Russian drum & bass outfit Triamer and Nagato hail from a place that likes drum & bass that cuts right through to the bone. Time after time they deliver only the nastiest of cuts, pushing aside any commercial appeal and creating the real authenticity which many drum & bass fans crave for. And this is what Triamer and Nagato certainly offer up for their next release, pushing forward three masterfully crafted, but blaringly aggressive tracks which will platform their sound to an even wider audience on French label Kosen Production.

Kosen Production have also been making waves, sifting through a tonne of newcomers to pull out the very best, as well as hosting some of the most prominent names within the underground scene.

‘Woogie’ comes first, featuring rolling beat patterns and distorted bass crackling throughout its intro. Slowly but surely the track breaks, with blasting kick drum and clattering percussion rushing across the mix. The record focuses heavily on the hook which drives between every break, creating a groove that’s impossible to pull yourself away from.

For the EP’s next addition, The Manekens join Triamer and Nagato for a collaboration of epic proportions. Taking on a much different route, it’s a clambering concoction of spookily omnipresent waves rushing for your subs, as well as cranking stabs rising and falling between each clatter of bass. The producers team up for a track that breaks every genre boundary. Triamer and Nagato, alongside Manekens, demonstrate how they’re unafraid to take their sound into unfamiliar territories.

And finally, comes ‘Western’, pushing out its bassline manipulation, clattering bells and snipping hi-hats to bring you a track that once again diverts from the norm. The track’s groove is undeniable, nestled underneath layer upon layer of fluctuating note patterns and instrumentals. Triamer and Nagato merge musicality with driving power, conjuring tracks that make your nerve endings twitch but still know how to create devastation on the dancefloor.
